Personal Statement
2017-2018
The main reasons I want to do TY are:
- I think I would like to compete in competitions such as the BT Young Scientist and Junk Kouture. I think these would benefit me in the future having them on my C.V.
- I would also like to build up my C.V with other projects and extra-curricular activities such as Red Cross, the school debating team and coaching.
- Finally I would like to do TY because I would like to take part in the school musical because I have a great interest in musical theatre.
My overall aim for the year is to build up my C.V and learn to work better with those in my year. I would like to be a more patient person at the end of transition year.
My objectives for the year:
- I would like to enter a project into the BT Young Scientist in January which takes place in the RDS in Dublin.
- I would like to design and enter a dress in Junk Kouture.
- I would like to take part in extra-curricular activities outside of school that I didn’t have time for during the Junior Certificate.
- I would like to have a principle role in the school musical because I have an interest in preforming and musical theatre.
- Finally I would like to form a greater bond with the other students that are also doing transition year.
I think I am suited for transition year because I am very organised person and I plan to make the most of the year by building up my C.V for when I am applying to work in the near future.
