On Tuesday 9th of January, Anne Hall visited our school to talk to the TYs about nutrition. She explained the basics of nutrition, the importance of eating balanced meals, getting your 5 a day and always eating breakfast. she explained the types of food teenagers should be eating before and after exercising. She spoke about how important portion control is and that you should always have a mix of different colours on your plate. She also spoke about the benefits of super food on your immune system.
Personally, since I did home ec for the junior cert i found this talk quite boring as it was the basics you learn in the first few months in 1st year but I would recommend it to someone who never did home ec, otherwise it feels a bit like a double home ec theory class.
