Day one - 24th of April
Arriving at the airport at 3 am for our 6 am flight, only one person lost their boarding pass but found it shortly after losing it. We reached Barcelona at 10 am local time and headed for the museum of Natural History and Science. We then went to the Sagrada Familia, which has been under construction since 1882 and is expected to be complete in 2026, we then went down Les Rambles where we saw sights such as the Barcelona Cathedral. After the tour we were given free time to go shopping in the city centre. |
We all met back at the bus after our free time to go to the cables cars which brought us to the top of a mountain. On the way up we had a beautiful view of the city. I really enjoyed this as I had been to Barcelona before but didn't get the chance to go on the cables cars.We then headed to our hotel, the Salou Park Resort, where on the bus trip most people finally got to sleep after over 24 hour. We arrived at the hotel and we all went to our rooms, I shared with Fiona and Alsun. The rooms were nicer than I expected, it had 3 single beds, a wardrobe, a tv, a bathroom with a shower and a balcony.
After dinner we went to an arcade and bowling alley in the centre of Salou. We stayed there for a few hours before heading back to our hotel at around 11pm. |
Day two - 25th of April
On Wednesday morning we went to the Gaudi museum in Reus. We were shown a video about Antoni Gaudi and everyone was given a phone to listen to more stories and information about Gaudi and his work as we looked around the 3 floors. We then got free time to get food and go shopping before we went to Portaventura Theme Park. I was very excited for this as i had never even been on a roller coaster before. My favourite thing there was the 'Hurakan Condor'. This was a vertical drop from 283 ft at 114 km/h. Another thing I really enjoyed was the 'Furius Baco' roller coaster, which is the fastest roller coaster in europe at
135 km/h. I really enjoyed Portaventura and would definitely go again but I would get the premium ticket as I'm impatient and didn't particularly enjoy waiting 40 minutes for a roller coaster that lasts about 40 seconds. |
After Portaventura we went back to the hotel to get changed to go to the beach which was beside the hotel. I really enjoyed this as it was relaxing after 2 very busy days and it was nice to play volleyball in the water with my friends. I learned I'm terrible at volleyball. After dinner we were given free time to walk around the area before going back to the hotel at 11pm and having to pack to go back home the following day.

Day three - 26th of April
On our last day, we left the hotel early to go to Tarragona to see the Tarragona Amphitheatre. We were then given free time to go around Tarragona to go shopping and get food but a lot of the shops and restaurants weren't open yet as it was still very early. We then got the bus back to Barcelona which took about 1 hour 45 minutes. When we got back to Barcelona we went to Camp Nou, the Barcelona FC stadium. Camp Nou is the largest stadium in Europe and the 2nd largest soccer stadium in the world, the seating capacity is 99,354.
|
We then did the Camp Nou Experience, which is the tour of the stadium and the museum. We got to see the conference room, the team dressing room, players boots in a display case, replicas of Messi's 5 Ballon D'ors, and the Camp Nou pitch. I really enjoyed Camp Nou as I've seen it many times when watches matches on tv and was glad I got to see it in person. We then went to a shopping centre for about 2 hours before having to go to the airport to go home.
